PROJECT IN PARKATI:
SYLVESTER AND JACKSON JUST GRADUATED FROM THE PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE IN ARUSHA.
They were so excited to go on a journey as they had never left their environment.
The course just open their mind to incredible possibilities of transforming their arid land into a supportive food forest to benefit the entire community and the lives of its members.
Back at home with their Certificate, they are eager to start experimenting with different local plants and seeds for vegetables.
Turkana Empowerment Project is fundraising to buy trees: mulberry, figs, desert palm, mesquite and others. In order to grow this plantation we need to create swales to retain the moisture. The successful trees will in turn bring shade which will enable to grow many different plants in the understory. The community members need tools: garden forks, shovels, pruning knives, etc.
Please visit our contribute page and become a community builder or make a one time donation. All proceeds go directly to help the community projects. The people of Parkati are very appreciative of your help!
